Endodontics
Gentle, Precise Root Canal & Tooth-Saving Care
At Sreenivasa Dental Clinic, our endodontic care focuses on saving your natural teeth by
treating problems
inside the tooth. With modern anesthesia, advanced imaging, and careful technique, most
treatments are
comfortable—often no more uncomfortable than getting a filling.
🦷 What Is Endodontics?
Endodontics is the branch of dentistry that treats the dental pulp (the nerve and blood
supply inside a tooth)
and the tissues surrounding the root. When the pulp becomes inflamed or infected due to
deep decay, cracks,
trauma, or repeated procedures, endodontic treatment can relieve pain and save the
tooth.
Common Symptoms You Might Need Endodontic Care
- Lingering tooth pain to hot or cold
- Spontaneous, throbbing pain or pain when chewing
- Swelling or pimple-like bump on the gums
- Darkening or discoloration of the tooth
- Tenderness in the gums or jaw
Our Endodontic Treatments
- Root Canal Treatment (RCT) – Removes infected pulp, disinfects the
canals, and seals the tooth to relieve pain and stop infection.
- Re-RCT (Retreatment) – Addresses persistent or recurring infection
in a previously treated tooth.
- Apicoectomy (Root-End Surgery) – A minor surgical procedure to
treat infection at the tip of the root when retreatment isn’t enough.
- Cracked Tooth Management – Diagnosis and stabilization of cracked
teeth to relieve pain and preserve the tooth where possible.
- Emergency Pain Relief – Rapid assessment and targeted treatment to
control acute dental pain and swelling.
What to Expect During a Root Canal
- Exam & X-rays: We identify the source of pain and plan treatment.
- Comfort First: Local anesthesia and gentle technique to keep you
relaxed.
- Cleaning: Infected tissue is removed and canals are thoroughly
disinfected.
- Sealing: The canals are filled and the tooth is sealed to prevent
reinfection.
- Final Restoration: A filling or crown restores strength, function,
and appearance.
Note: A crown is often recommended after RCT on back teeth to protect against
fracture.
Aftercare & Recovery
- Mild tenderness for 1–2 days is common and manageable with prescribed meds.
- Chew on the opposite side until the final crown/filling is placed.
- Maintain brushing, flossing, and regular check-ups to keep the tooth healthy.
